The predicted salary is between 25760 - 27476 £ per year.

The main responsibility of this role is to undertake data management duties to support the Senior Research Data Officer (SRDO) and to supervise the Assistant Research Data Officer (ARDO), delegating duties appropriate to their level. The post holder will work with the SRDO and clinical teams to ensure the accurate and timely data management of all active research studies, working with external stakeholders to ensure an efficient service whilst adhering to current regulatory guidance and Trust Policies.

Main Duties:

  • Under the direction of the SRDO, undertake complex data entry using computerised and paper-based systems ensuring the data is accurate, timely, consistent, and up to date.
  • Undertake regular quality checks of own work.
  • Assist with data queries in a timely manner, working closely with research nurses and administrators to ensure resolution.
  • Liaise with study leads and clinical staff to assist with the co-ordination, upload, checking, and resolution of data and data queries.
  • Under the direction of the SRDO, upload case report forms.
  • Assist in sending images (Radiology/CT/MRI) internally and externally as directed.
  • Extract confidential and sensitive information from bespoke databases such as PAS and Maxims.
  • Develop an understanding of specialty specific data.
  • Deliver consistent and accurate attention to detail to ensure quality and efficiency of processes.
  • Be fully conversant with EDGE and RADICO (internal research databases) and understand how to use and navigate them appropriately.
  • Undertake a supervisory role of the Assistant Research Data Officer, delegating duties appropriate to their level.
  • Attend training sessions on specialist software required for specific research trial data capture.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • 4 GCSE's or equivalent at Grade C or above.
  • Microsoft Package or similar qualifications.
  • Supervisory and/or Leadership Qualification.

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a busy office environment.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of using computerised data systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft packages particularly Teams/Excel/Word.
  • Database experience including extracting and/or accurate inputting.
  • Experience of working in a clinical research environment and/or GCP trained.
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of medical terminology.
  • Experience of working within the NHS.
  • Leadership and/or mentoring experience.

Skills:

  • Data management and/or entry.
  • Ability to work to and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Able to remain calm when working under pressure and with competing, changing priorities.
  • Minute taking experience.
  • Audit and monitoring skills and/or experience.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
