We have an exciting opportunity available at the Royal Cornwall Hospital for Paediatric Registered Nurses to join our committed team in the Emergency Department in the Acute and Emergency Medicine Care Group. We are seeking applications from registered Paediatric nurses who have the ability and determination to learn and to gain new skills and competencies and who are motivated to develop the highest standards of care and who are committed to continuous improvement.
Main duties of the job:
- To work as a skilled member of the nursing team.
- To provide a high standard of compassionate patient-centred care.
- To lead and supervise the work of other qualified and unqualified staff within the team.
- To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills and have a good knowledge and understanding of clinical standards. You must be able to work on your own initiative and also be an excellent team player whilst being prepared to develop as an individual and support others to develop.

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) is the main provider of acute and specialist care services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Job responsibilities:
This role requires comprehensive nursing responsibilities across the Paediatric Emergency Department, ensuring safe, high quality care for all patients. We may be able to offer flexible working. Please discuss at interview. We may be able to offer sponsorship but this is not guaranteed.
Qualifications:
- Level 1 Registered Paediatric Nurse (RN8/RNC) with valid NMC registration / students pending registration
- Commitment to obtain assessing / mentoring qualification
- Evidence of professional portfolio
- Basic computer skills
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
Experience:
- Previous experience in an acute Trust within the last twelve months (this can include student placement)
Knowledge:
- Understanding of evidence based practice to enhance care
