Newsflash - exciting opportunities to join our eCare Team! Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is continuing its digital and clinical transformation journey that will change the way in which we deliver care across Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, and the South West Peninsula. We are seeking a highly motivated Digital Elective Care Lead with a strong understanding of NHS administrative and clerical processes and excellent communication skills. This pivotal role will support the Trust in transitioning from PAS to eCare, driving service transformation and ensuring elective care processes align with programme objectives. This is a fixed term contract until 31 July 2026.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide comprehensive project management support to enable the smooth transition from PAS to eCare, and its successful implementation and integration.
  • Support the implementation of the new Patient Portal, enabling seamless patient engagement.
  • Support adherence to NHSE guidance/mandated changes, ensuring compliance and alignment with national standards.
  • Provide advice and guidance to eCare training personnel, ensuring functionality and workflows are embedded in training materials and sessions.
  • Participate in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) discussions, identifying new opportunities for automation within eCare workflows.
  • Understand and align eCare processes with the role and functionality of third-party suppliers.
  • Using technical skills, experience and judgement, support improvements in key areas such as referral management, inpatient and outpatient correspondence, collection of pre-procedure information and diagnostic workflows.
  • Contribute to service redesign initiatives, optimise processes, and improve patient experience.
  • Support data migration and testing cycles, ensuring accuracy and continuity of patient information.
  • Use analytical, negotiation, and influencing skills to resolve operational challenges and support Elective Planned Care pathway improvements.

Person Specification:

Experience:

  • Proven successful structured project management skills / experience including experience in managing change and leadership of project teams.
  • Relevant experience in health service or other major large scale customer service oriented organisation.
  • Proven experience in organising and prioritising multiple tasks and workloads and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience of Service Change Management/business Transformation.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary project/workstream teams.

Qualification:

  • Hold a formal project management qualification (eg. PRINCE, APM, Agile) or relevant experience.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with a specialist IMT/business management qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • PRINCE 2 Clinical Systems General Management Skills.

Ability to solve complex analytical problems; independently analyse information; oversee and control testing/options appraisals and make recommendations based on all analysis. Good team leadership, co-ordination and motivation skills. Good team player.
