Senior Strategic Communications Officer
London UK HQ with hybrid working, Permanent, Job Share, 21 hours per week (to be worked on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).
Salary range per annum*: £47,745 – £53,934 (pro-rata) plus London weighting allowance of £5,094 per annum (pro-rata).

The Senior Strategic Communications Officer plans, manages and evaluates UK-wide communications projects and campaigns that progress the RCN’s strategic objectives – working with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver impactful activity for members and other audiences.
The role will be varied and you will be working on a wide range of projects from our corporate campaigns such as Nurses’ Day, to delivering strategic communications planning for our annual Congress and Institute of Nursing Excellence. You’ll need to be confident in turning complex information into messaging that will be used by stakeholders across the organisation. You’ll need to be able to lead projects and monitor progress of other teams to deliver against shared objectives.
To succeed in this role you will need to be an experienced communications professional used to planning and delivering strategic communications activity. You’ll be used to working in a busy team, able to manage competing priorities and delivering to tight deadlines. Ideally, you will have knowledge of the health sector and/or experience in a membership organisation. Your ability to foster strong professional relationships and encourage close collaboration between departments is at the heart of this role.

*We offer a competitive pay structure with annual pay progression until you reach the top of the salary scale. We normally offer new employees the first point of the salary range, although you may be able to negotiate a higher starting salary depending on your skills, experience and current salary.

Our hybrid working model allows for up to 60% of your working time to be carried out from home. At least 40% of your working time will be spent working in person.
