It’s knowing every product reflects the highest standards. It’s safeguarding a brand recognised around the world. And it’s the pride in ensuring our retail offer is compliant, responsible and protected. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional.
Based within our Retail team, you’ll lead the development and delivery of global product compliance and intellectual property management across our onsite, eCommerce and third‑party retail channels. From auditing product ranges to shaping trademark strategy, your work will ensure our products are safe, legally robust and worthy of the Royal Collection name.
Key Responsibilities:- You’ll conduct end‑to‑end audits across our product development, manufacturing, labelling and supplier processes, ensuring our 1,500 strong product range meets global regulatory standards.
- You’ll map gaps against emerging regulations and work with suppliers and product teams to meet requirements within agreed timescales.
- You’ll design and implement a fit‑for‑purpose compliance management system, creating policies, checklists and training materials that embed best practice.
- You’ll develop KPIs and reporting tools to monitor ongoing compliance and deliver a clear plan covering process ownership, timelines and escalation routes.
- You’ll keep up to date with new legislation, assessing its impact on onsite, eCommerce and wholesale retail and communicate any potential risks and actions to stakeholders.
- You’ll audit brand assets and product names for trademark exposure, conduct preliminary searches and coordinate with external IP counsel on filings, renewals and oppositions.
- You’ll create processes for ongoing IP portfolio management and define a trademark strategy aligned to our product roadmap and global ambitions.
With a background in product compliance or quality assurance, ideally within a retail or consumer goods environment, you’ll bring hands‑on experience auditing against global standards. You’ll have a proven track record of building and embedding compliance processes, translating complex regulations into practical, workable solutions. Strong stakeholder management skills mean you’ll collaborate confidently with suppliers, product developers and internal teams. Excellent written and verbal communication will enable you to articulate requirements clearly and deliver effective training. With exceptional attention to detail, you’ll ensure accuracy across compliance documentation, reporting and IP assessments. Highly organised and proactive, you’ll manage multiple priorities, budgets and external partners with confidence.
Whilst experience working with product related intellectual property or trademark management would be advantageous, it’s your diligence and commitment to protecting our products and brand that will make the real difference.
