The Royal Collection Trust is responsible for preserving and presenting one of the world\’s most significant art collections. We manage the public opening of official Royal residences, including Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, along with our retail operations, offering exclusive products to visitors from around the globe.
As a Retail Assistant, you will be a key part of this mission, helping us deliver exceptional service to every visitor while maximising sales and contributing to the ongoing care of the Royal Collection.
Key Responsibilities
- You\’ll provide outstanding customer service, engaging warmly and confidently with visitors to ensure they have a memorable experience.
- By using your product knowledge and selling skills, you\’ll help to exceed daily sales targets and increase customer spend.
- You\’ll maintain high standards of visual presentation, ensuring our stores reflect the quality of the Royal Collection and are always looking their best.
- Supporting the retail team, you\’ll assist with stock control, cash handling, and day-to-day processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements, including the sale of alcohol.
- You\’ll also be part of special events, from private evening tours to receptions, working flexibly to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- With a focus on delivering excellence, you\’ll actively participate in training and development sessions to continuously grow your skills and knowledge.
Contract options and hours:
We have four roles available: two full-time permanent positions (38 hours per week) and two fixed term part-time positions (23 hours per week) from October 2025 to March 2026. In your application, please specify whether you would like to be considered for a full-time role, a part-time role, or both.
