Through permanent and seasonal shops across official residencies, as well as a growing eCommerce platform, Royal Collection Trust’s retail operations sell a wide range of giftware from limited edition porcelain and jewellery to postcards and souvenirs. All of the revenue from these sales is directly invested into the care and conservation of the Royal Collection.

As eCommerce Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting our online retail operations, helping to optimise the customer journey and maximise sales across our digital platforms ensuring our product listings, content and website functionality are always at their best.

Key Responsibilities
  • You’ll take the lead on publishing new products, creating SEO‑optimised descriptions and ensuring all product information is accurate, consistent and engaging.
  • You’ll manage the visual merchandising of products and categories, keeping the site fresh, seasonally relevant and aligned with campaign assets from the eCommerce Marketing team.
  • You’ll oversee the day‑to‑day performance of the website, resolving customer‑journey issues with Customer Services and recommending enhancements based on insight and feedback.
  • You’ll act as the first point of contact for colleagues needing operational support with ecommerce systems or digital tools, helping troubleshoot and guide best practice.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with the eCommerce Marketing team and external partners to ensure all required digital assets are produced, delivered and optimised for SEO.
  • You’ll support the eCommerce Manager with the digital development roadmap, assisting with ongoing development tasks, QA, testing and weekly performance reporting.
  • You’ll also manage key administrative processes, including setting up suppliers, raising purchase orders and processing invoices.

With every product you spotlight on our site, you’ll in turn be helping care for the Royal Collection and bring it to wider audiences to enjoy.

About you

With experience in an eCommerce, retail or customer‑facing environment, you’ll bring a solid understanding of online retail and customer journey. You might have experience using eCommerce platforms and content management systems, but this is not essential. What’s more important is your customer focused approach and knowledge of how to deliver an exceptional online experience.

Highly organised, you can effectively plan and prioritise a varied workload, handling multiple, often tight deadlines. With a real eye for detail, you have exceptional written communication skills and always aim for perfect accuracy in all that you do. Methodical and analytical, you’re confident interpreting data and writing reports. You’re also a natural communicator and enjoy working as part of a close, supportive team, so you’ll work well with a variety of people with different skills and expertise.

Finally, it’s your initiative and proactive approach to hone your own skills, all the while improving the online experience for others, that will make you an asset to the team.

We know that to deliver our best work; we need to feel at our best. That’s why at the Royal Household we offer a generous benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and life priorities.
