Position Overview
This position is responsible for oversight and execution of the strategic planning of the shipboard marine workforce for the designated brands, as well as supervision of Team Leads and respective teams.
This role will focus always on operational excellence and consistency, keeping in mind efficiencies and cost-avoidance. In collaboration with relevant partners, you will maintain PAR for the designated brands including new builds, modernisations, and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with Team Leads, constantly review marine par levels, forecasts, and fleet status to ensure balanced rotations and efficient/proactive planning with focus on consistently meeting par across the fleet
- Regularly collaborate, strategise, and engage with Scheduling leaders and the marine operations brand leaders to ensure all crewing objectives are captured and met
- Oversee the team\’s strategic scheduling and logistics optimisation based on business needs (par, demographic, nationalities, skills, etc) to maintain fleet and marine cost centre positional par, including new builds and modernisation initiatives
- Own and manage meetings with key stakeholders across the enterprise to proactively manage the marine par fulfilment strategy, solve roadblocks, and/or obtain approvals to execute crew movement
- Inform and update leadership regarding the status of the planning and bring to light any potential obstacles
- Responsible for regular reporting as necessary to audit and provide visibility, managing quality control
- Assure contingency plans are in place to address any potential CAM (crew area moment) HR Operational challenges
- Employees may be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management
Financial Responsibilities
The Manager has the shared responsibility for CAM budget management relative to crew movement across the fleet.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years progressive leadership experience in Workforce Planning, Human Resource Management, or related field; shipboard HR experience a plus
- Minimum of three years in employee relations investigating, negotiating and resolving grievances and conflicts, preferably in a multi-cultural, diverse environment
Knowledge and Skills:
- A strong leader with an open and direct style, one who practices participative management and team building
- Ability to successfully manage a high-pressure environment and navigate confidently through all kinds of situations and operational challenges
- Highly organised and experienced in managing diverse groups
- Exceptional analytical skills; ability to extract and convey important data details to support proposed solutions
- Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience in presenting complex ideas/concepts to senior-level management
- Proficient in budget management, ability to constantly find cost-savings and cost-avoidance opportunities
- Bachelor\’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Workforce Planning, or ability to speak additional languages for the APAC region an advantage
