POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Analyst, Marine Safety Systems plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance within the cruise industry. This position is integral to the Safety & Marine Standards division, contributing to the overall mission of Global Marine Operations. Located in Weybridge, UK, the role operates in a dynamic environment that emphasises collaboration and compliance in support of the operational and newbuild RCG vessels. The successful candidate will leverage their experience to support safety protocols and emergency preparedness, aligned with the organisation’s commitment to providing exceptional and safe cruise experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft station bills (emergency plans) for newbuild ships in coordination with Safety & Marine Standards stakeholders, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Support dynamic load factor station bills tailored for RCG brands to optimise safety and operational efficiency as necessary.
- Maintain minimum manning station bills for RCG brands, ensuring adequate staffing levels during emergencies.
- Update RCG station bills in response to major changes in ship construction or par levels, reflecting the latest operational requirements.
- Analyse data utilised in e-muster systems to facilitate effective emergency response and training; provide management recommendations for continuous improvement based on data insights.
- Support and coordinate with appropriate RCG IT partners for emergency and marine systems to ensure seamless integration of RCG safety procedures and standards.
- Conduct and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of various marine and emergency systems during newbuild projects to validate functionality and compliance.
- Support initiatives to enhance safety culture across the RCG organisation aligned with GMO Strategic Plan, fostering collaboration among teams.
- Monitor and analyse safety performance metrics for various marine safety systems, driving continuous improvement in marine safety standards.
- Support Safety & Marine Standards team in providing training and guidance to shipboard marine and hotel crew during Newbuilds and on operational ships as necessary on marine safety systems including Fidelio OHC and APASS, ensuring preparedness across all levels.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in marine safety or operations, preferably within the cruise industry.
- Relevant certifications in marine safety, emergency response, or risk management are highly desirable.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Excellent analytical skills to assess safety performance and implement improvements.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in using and learning various forms of safety management software.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
