The Analyst ensures any reported problem is fully researched, they are able to assess the Business impact of the problem and prioritise a resolution. They participate in the problem-solving process, frequently across many impacted parties/time zones, to ensure that the business standards and requirements are met. The analyst is familiar with multiple approaches to solve a problem and will choose the most appropriate one, delivering a timely and effective solution. The Analyst may participate in gathering information for new initiatives through interviews with the Business owners and staff, studying the procedures and systems currently in place. They will participate in review designs and proposed systems changes to meet an organisation's requirements ensuring the proposed design will deliver an efficient solution. They will conduct effective QA tasks, including the writing and execution of comprehensive test scripts covering all features of the new functionality, together with ensuring that full Business as Usual testing is covered. Analysts are responsible to understand current business practices and have a working knowledge of the systems they are assigned to, plus a high level knowledge of associated systems deployed in their Business Community, in order to assist in cross team impact assessment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review documentation to understand testing requirements, test environments and objectives.
- Identify test data needs and work with appropriate teams to ensure data is available during the testing phases.
- Participate in the defect triage meetings with the project team.
- Outline test scenarios and test cases.
- Conduct peer review of test cases.
- Coordinate testing of applications/products supported as per project plan.
- Provide first/second line support for the Business user on assigned software applications.
- Provide or co-ordinate resolution of issues in line with SLA.
- Monitor progress of open calls and ensure users and other interested parties are kept informed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer or information science. A business degree may be acceptable if candidate has a strong computer background.
- Experience with Software development and Testing life cycle.
- 2 years’ experience of Customer Software support, troubleshooting and system testing.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Understanding of Business process reviews, Use Cases, Process Flows.
- Experience with Software development and testing life cycle.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Analytical & Methodical process driven.
- Knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management tools (HP or similar).
- Knowledge of Incident reporting software (Remedy BCM or similar).
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- Logical problem solving and analytical skills.
- Tenacious - sense of urgency to satisfy customer.
- Flexible approach and adaptable to change.
- Good team player and communicator, flexible in approach, and with a desire to drive forward in I.T.
- Experience in working in an International environment beneficial.
- Flexible working hours and the ability to travel required.
