Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned and data-driven Manager of Energy Efficiency Performance to lead a team focused on optimising energy performance across our cruise ship fleet. This role will manage a team of analysts responsible for monitoring and improving Hull & Propeller performance, Specific Fuel Oil Consumption (SFOC), and Service Power efficiency using corporate digital tools and shipboard data. The successful candidate will bring at least 8 years of relevant technical experience, ideally within maritime or heavy industries, and demonstrate a strong operational mindset and functional leadership.
This role is based in Weybridge, UK.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of performance analysts focused on energy efficiency initiatives.
- Oversee the analysis of shipboard data related to hull and propeller condition, engine performance (SFOC), and auxiliary/service power use to identify trends and recommend operational improvements.
- Champion the use of corporate digital tools and dashboards to track energy performance, generate insights, and communicate findings to stakeholders across the fleet.
- Collaborate with technical superintendents, onboard engineers, and sustainability teams to align performance insights with operational actions and maintenance planning.
- Translate complex performance data into actionable strategies that support corporate decarbonisation goals and compliance with international regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and cross-functional collaboration across departments.
- Support budgeting and ROI analyses for energy-saving initiatives and technology retrofits.
- Monitor KPIs and benchmark performance across vessels, fostering a culture of accountability and performance excellence.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in ship performance analysis, energy efficiency, or maritime operations.
- Experience managing a team or leading technical projects in a fleet operations, ship management, or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of ship systems, fuel efficiency metrics, propulsion hydrodynamics, and energy management best practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in using digital platforms, performance monitoring tools, and data visualisation (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a broad operational and strong functional perspective.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with shipboard and shoreside teams.
- Knowledge of IMO regulations, EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, and energy efficiency frameworks is a plus.
