Royal Caribbean Group’s Global Marine Operations Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Senior Manager, Marine Asset Management reporting to the Senior Director, Asset Management.
This position will work onsite in either Miami, Florida or Weybridge, England.
Position Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Manager, Marine Asset Management to lead the development and execution of global asset management initiatives across our fleet. You would serve as a vital link between shipboard operations and shore-side leadership, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment of asset strategies. The position is critical in optimizing the value, performance, and lifecycle of the company’s physical assets, including shipboard systems and shore-side infrastructure—through data-driven maintenance, inventory optimization, and strategic planning. You would need to bring deep expertise in maritime operations and engineering, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to communicate effectively across operational and executive levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement comprehensive, fleet-wide asset management strategies across global operations to enhance asset reliability, reduce lifecycle costs, and support long-term operational goals.
- Ensure alignment with international standards and regional regulatory requirements.
Strategic Maintenance Leadership:
- Lead the design and execution of global maintenance programs, including:
- Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM)
- Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM)
- Maintenance Optimization (e.g., task reduction and consolidation)
- Standardization of maintenance practices to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk
- Continuous improvement initiatives based on performance analytics and benchmarking
Executive Stakeholder Engagement:
- Prepare strategic update meetings and present data-driven recommendations to the leadership team. Provide insights on asset performance, risk mitigation, and capital planning to support informed decision-making at the highest levels.
Inventory Optimization Program:
- Oversee inventory control practices for both shipboard and shore-side operations to:
- Maximize utilization of existing inventory
- Minimize excess spend and supply chain risk
- Improve inventory visibility, forecasting accuracy, and replenishment strategies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global vendors, contractors, and external partners to ensure alignment with asset management goals, service level expectations, and compliance with contractual obligations.
Regulatory & Industry Engagement:
- Collaborate with international regulatory bodies and industry organizations to:
- Ensure compliance with maritime and environmental regulations
- Contribute to industry-wide initiatives and working groups focused on innovation and operational excellence
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills :
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution (or international equivalent) preferred.
- Prior experience as aTechnical Superintendent, Chief EngineerorStaff Chief Engineerwithin a major cruise line is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in marine maintenance management, ideally within the cruise or maritime industry.
- Deep understanding of shipboard systems including propulsion, auxiliaries, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.
- Asset Management Systems: Proficiency in AMOS maintenance management software and other CMMS/PMS platforms.
- Data Analytics & Visualization: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including Power Query and PivotTables) and Power BI for data analysis, dashboard creation, and performance reporting.
- AI & Predictive Tools: Familiarity with AI-driven maintenance and inventory optimization tools, including predictive analytics platforms and machine learning applications for asset performance monitoring.
- Collaboration & Productivity Tools: Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and collaborative platforms such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and project management tools like Jira, Confluence, or Asana.
- Technical Reporting & Communication: Ability to translate complex technical data into actionable insights and executive-level presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and track operational and capital budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive financial efficiency across asset management programs.
- Proficient in financial forecasting, variance analysis, and lifecycle cost modeling to support strategic decision-making.
- Experienced in the Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) process, including business case development, ROI analysis, and capital planning.
- Familiarity with profit and loss (P&L) statements, public company accounting practices, and financial reporting requirements in a regulated environment.
