Job Summary
As the Senior Category Manager for Electrical & Automation within Marine Technical Procurement, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with our technical, new-building, and operational teams to define and implement innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Your expertise will be instrumental in sourcing and managing suppliers to ensure the Royal Caribbean fleet benefits from differentiated electrical and automation systems that enhance vessel performance, safety, and passenger experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for electrical and automation categories
- Collaborate closely with technical and operational teams to understand project requirements and technical specifications
- Engage with suppliers to negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and ensure supply chain reliability
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and technological advancements
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards across procurement activities
- Support new-building projects and ongoing maintenance with innovative procurement solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define SLA’s and KPI’s for suppliers
- Up to 25% domestic and international travel as necessary
What we’d love you to have:
Qualifications / Skills
- Extensive experience in electrical and automation procurement, within the maritime, transport or other related industries
- Strong understanding of marine electrical systems, automation technologies, and industry standards
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Proven track record of delivering cost-competitive, differentiated solutions at scale
- Strong commercial mindset and a keen problem solver with a strong personal drive
- Beneficial: BSc or MSc in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar
