Sports Activities Staff - Travel the World!
Royal Caribbean Cruises is looking for dynamic, top-quality individuals to join our expanding family. As an industry leader in service and innovation, we provide a working environment that fosters career growth and development for our onboard team members. If you are able to commit to a six month contract working at sea, share a cabin with one other person from your department and work 7 days a week then please read on! All salaries are paid in US dollars & are tax free; all meals & accommodation included. Flights paid.
- Sports Staff need work experience of one year physical fitness and/or recreational sports instruction background with resorts, sports facilities or related recreational facilities. Tournament organisation experience is essential.
- Degree education in Sports related subject preferred.
- Public speaking experience a plus.
- Ability to coordinate and instruct recreational sports and activities for large groups and/or individual sessions. Coaching experience a bonus.
- Ability to provide one-on-one rock climbing wall instruction, training provided.
- Knowledge of the rules of basketball, volleyball, golf, ping-pong & ability to organise tournaments.
- Ability to be trained on the Flowrider.
- Proven customer service skills to interact appropriately with guests in a considerate, professional and positive manner by showing concern and listening actively.
PHYSICAL, VISION AND HEARING REQUIREMENTS:
Physical: Must pass the company required medical evaluation. All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs are required in the event of an emergency.
Specific for sports operation, the employee must complete a climbing assessment. Must be able to climb the rock-climbing wall in time pre-determined for each size of rock wall. Failing to do so would prevent the continuity of the contract.
Vision: Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. · Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. · While performing the duties of this job, the shipboard employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Employees must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Candidates must be available to travel within 6 months of passing the interview process. All applicants must have a clear police criminal background check & a current passport.
