This newly created role is an exciting opportunity for a graduate who is hungry to learn, full of ideas, and ready to help build RBVE’s public profile at a time of real growth.
You’ll work closely with the PR & Communications Manager to deliver proactive, creative PR that raises awareness of RBVE’s mission on a 12 month fixed term contract and based in Aylesford, Kent.
A big part of the role will be supporting PR for The Great Tommy Sleep Out (GTSO), our flagship fundraising campaign, where supporters across the country sleep outside for one night or more in March to raise vital funds for veterans facing homelessness.
It brings this serious issue to the forefront and gives people an opportunity to take action and raise money to help.
This role is ideal for someone at the very start of their career who is eager to learn, confident with communicating, and ready to get stuck in.
You’ll bring strong written skills, curiosity, and a proactive eye for stories and opportunities that resonate with audiences.
You’ll be organised, comfortable building relationships, and creative in thinking up ideas that get people talking.
While experience in PR isn’t required, enthusiasm, resilience, and a willingness to learn absolutely are.
You’ll have a genuine interest in the third sector and the issues we work across — including homelessness, unemployment, veterans’ support and disability — and you’ll be someone who can keep up with the wider policy and political conversations shaping this space.
Most importantly, you’ll have a clear sense of why this work matters.
The PR & Communications Assistant will sit within the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications team, working alongside colleagues across PR, communications, digital marketing, and fundraising.
It reports to the PR & Communications Manager.
The role contributes to RBVE’s wider storytelling, ensuring important stories are shared with the audiences who need to hear them.
You’ll be joining a supportive, collaborative team during an exciting period of growth, with the opportunity to help shape how RBVE tells its story nationally and regionally.
