Join our Veteran & Employment Services team and make a real difference to veterans, beneficiaries, supported staff, interns and the wider Armed Forces community.
As a Veteran & Employment Services Welfare Officer, you will provide welfare, employability and support coordination services, helping individuals access the right support and move towards improved wellbeing, independent living, recovery, training, volunteering and employment.
Working as part of a team of three Welfare Officers, you will deliver frontline support across the VALOUR Network, STEP-IN programme and wider Veteran & Employment Services provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for individuals seeking support.
- Conduct triage, assessments and support planning.
- Manage a caseload and provide ongoing welfare support.
- Coordinate referrals and warm handovers to specialist services.
- Support individuals to achieve positive personal and employment outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with partner organisations.
About You
- Experience in welfare, support, advice or case management services.
- Strong communication, assessment and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of the challenges facing veterans or disadvantaged individuals is desirable.
