Fundraising Events Officer in London

London Full-Time On-site
R

We’re looking for an Events Fundraising Officer to join the Royal British Legion on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working across an exciting portfolio of fundraising events in the UK and overseas. From major challenge events to established fundraising activities, you’ll be involved in bringing events together from the initial planning and promotion through to delivery on the day. It’s a varied, hands-on role where you’ll manage your own events, work alongside experienced colleagues and have the opportunity to get involved in everything from participant recruitment and marketing campaigns to event logistics, budgets and developing new opportunities.

Come and be part of the leading Armed Forces charity, making a difference to the lives of those who have served to keep us safe and protect our way of life.

A successful fundraising event is about much more than what happens on the day, and you’ll play an important part in getting every stage right. You’ll work with event organisers, suppliers, colleagues and volunteers to deliver well-run events that attract participants, achieve fundraising targets and keep supporters coming back. You’ll also help shape how we promote our events, develop engaging supporter journeys and use feedback and performance data to identify what’s working and where we can improve. With opportunities to attend events across the UK and overseas, this is a role for someone who enjoys being involved, taking ownership and seeing their hard work come together.

We’re looking for someone with experience in fundraising events, who understands what it takes to turn a great event idea into a successful fundraising opportunity. You’ll be organised, confident building relationships and comfortable juggling competing priorities, particularly when deadlines are approaching. You'll need to be equally happy coordinating plans behind the scenes as you are getting stuck in on event days, with strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach. Experience in the charity sector would be welcome, but we're just as interested in your ability to deliver successful events, engage supporters and bring fresh ideas to an established fundraising portfolio. A full, valid driving licence is essential.

You will be contracted to our Haig House hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.

Employee benefits include -

  • 28 day’s paid holiday (plus bank holidays) increasing with service, with optional annual leave purchase scheme of up to 5 working days
  • Enhanced paid maternity, paternity and adoption leave
  • Generous pension scheme with employer contributions ranging from 6% to 14%, depending on length of service
  • Range of flexible working options may be available, depending on your role
  • Employee Assistance Programme providing confidential counselling, financial and legal advice
  • Range of courses delivered by learning specialists to support your development goals and objectives
  • Opportunities to volunteer
  • Travel loans, Cycle to Work, and more!

For more detailed information about the role, please see the Job Description attached to our direct advert. Our teams take a personalised approach to shortlisting, which is carried out without the use of AI and is based on the evidence provided in your application against the essential and desirable criteria in the Person Specification.
