We’re expanding our team and are looking for a Care Assistant to join us at Dunkirk Memorial House. This role offers 36 hours per week, with shifts between 07:45 and 19:45 Monday to Sunday. Salary £13.41 - £13.62 per hour.
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate care to our residents, many of whom have served in the Armed Forces. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with personal care
- Supporting residents with their daily routines
- Ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times
- Helping with mobility, nutrition, and medication as required
- Working closely with colleagues to provide a safe, welcoming environment
- Maintaining accurate care records
- Communicating effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals

The Royal British Legion operates six care homes across the UK, committed to providing exceptional residential, nursing, and dementia care to veterans and their families. Located in the serene Somerset countryside, Dunkirk Memorial House offers a welcoming home with 86 en-suite bedrooms, a bar, library, chapel, and beautiful grounds featuring a rose garden. We are proud to offer expert care, including a specialized Dementia Mews providing compassionate support for up to 30 residents.
