We have an exciting opportunity for a Porter/Patient Support Worker to join the RACE Unit/Older Persons Assessment Unit at Poole Hospital.

About the Unit

The Older Persons Assessment Unit is newly refurbished and designed to facilitate 24/7 admissions for our aging community. With a capacity of 21 beds, the unit is busy and dynamic. We are seeking a passionate and proactive individual to join our team, helping us provide quality care to our complex elderly patients.

Role Overview

The goal is to provide all patients with a comprehensive geriatric assessment upon admission, ensuring they receive the right care at the right time. The role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Location and Interview

Based at Poole, with plans to move to Bournemouth. Interview date: TBC.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with transferring patients between wards and for scans/tests/investigations
  • Maintain stock levels and ward cleanliness
  • Support ward staff as needed
  • Manage equipment and perform safety checks
