This is an excellent opportunity to support the digital foundations behind Kew's science, conservation and public engagement. Working in the IT Infrastructure team, you will keep our enterprise storage and virtualisation services running reliably, with a focus on NetApp and Dell storage platforms, VMware vSphere, backups, snapshots and replication.

You will be a key technical contact for day-to-day requests, monitoring and standard incidents, helping ensure critical data and systems remain available, secure and resilient. You will bring hands-on experience of administering and monitoring enterprise storage platforms, ideally NetApp and Dell, and supporting VMware vSphere or similar virtualised environments.

You will be confident deploying VMs, monitoring hosts and resources, supporting backup, snapshot and replication jobs and carrying out routine file-level or VM restores. Methodical, calm and service-focused, you will be able to prioritise operational requests, investigate alerts, resolve standard incidents and elevate more complex issues clearly and promptly.

Experience of ITSM processes, SLAs, change control and working with suppliers or vendors would be an advantage, along with a proactive approach to spotting capacity, performance, resilience or security risks.

The salary will be £39,243 to £45,064 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
