At Wakehurst, Kew’s wild botanic garden in Sussex we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced operations manager to join our newly formed Learning and Public Engagement (LPE) team. Reporting to the Head of LPE, this role will help to deliver our mission by ensuring that our inspiring and informative learning experiences and events run smoothly from booking and ticketing through to staffing and delivery.
Our ideal candidate is an operations and ticketing expert with a passion for public engagement which connects people with nature. In this new role, you’ll lead the smooth running of Learning and Public Engagement operations at Wakehurst for a wide range of audiences. You will evolve and manage efficient systems including ticketing and CRM processes, staffing, logistics and compliance. Working closely with colleagues across Wakehurst, you’ll help shape cohesive, high-quality programmes supported by strong data, great teamwork and well-managed resources. If you’re motivated by operational excellence, people leadership and enabling impactful experiences in a unique natural setting, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll bring extensive experience in operational management within customer-facing environments, with a strong track record of implementing and using ticketing and CRM systems. You’ll be confident leading teams and improving processes through robust data analysis. Skilled at balancing multiple priorities, budgets and project strands, you’ll combine meticulous attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Interviews are due to take place w/c 9 March. This role is based at Wakehurst with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.
