The role involves reporting directly to the Assistant Director for Housing & Public Protection, playing a pivotal leadership role at the heart of high-profile and high-impact services. You will drive excellence across business support, performance, and continuous improvement—using insight, creativity, and data-led innovation to transform service delivery for residents and businesses.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and inspiring the Business Support & Performance function, including full budget responsibility, while championing a culture of improvement and innovation.
- Occasionally deputising for the Assistant Director, providing strong leadership and direction when required.
- Turning insight into action by developing high-quality performance dashboards, needs assessments, and intelligence products that shape operations.
- Leading in the specification and procurement of service software.
- Overseeing FOIs, Member enquiries, complaints, statutory housing reviews/appeals, and more.
No two days will be the same, with work touching on various areas such as stray dogs, licensing and business inspections, enforcement, homelessness, temporary accommodation, UK resettlement schemes, and even Royal events in Windsor.
