Your Role Will Involve
- The council has embarked upon an exciting programme of cross-functional projects across all Directorates, that need to be completed at a fast but considered pace.
- To support this, we are recruiting temporary Project Management Officers to join our Corporate Projects team and contribute to a portfolio of exciting transformational projects.
- Undertaking a variety of transformational projects, in accordance with agreed project plans, assigning resources and monitoring funding and spend.
- Producing project reports in the established format, at agreed intervals, summarising progress and identifying areas of potential concern.
- Monitoring progress against the project plan and agreeing remedial actions if required.
- Resolving issues occurring during the project cycle, escalating where appropriate with a series of options and recommendations.
- Conducting post-implementation reviews of projects to identify areas for improvement.
What We Are Looking For
- We are keen to meet individuals who will work in line with our values and behaviours within the Corporate Projects team, facilitating the delivery of projects on time, to budget and to the required quality across all service areas.
- Qualified to PRINCE 2 or equivalent Project Management accreditation.
- The successful candidate will have a detailed understanding of the practical application, concepts and principles of project management and some knowledge/experience of business analysis and software implementation.
- They will bring proven project management experience, which could include delivery of IT focussed projects and have a good understanding of the wide range of technical issues met in delivering IT projects.
- A proactive style with an enquiring nature to drive resolution to project issues and identify solutions.
- Good communications skillset to facilitate collaboration across service areas and teams.
