This role is part of that investment—supporting our ambition to improve Adult Social Care through better policies, smarter use of information, and co-production with our communities.
The Role
Reporting to the Principal Social Worker, you will play a key role in the continuous improvement of the Adult Social Care department. You’ll lead the development of policies and guidance, research and evaluate new ways of working (including the use of AI and technology), and create accessible information for staff and residents.
Your role will involve:
- Leading the development of policies and guidance to support departmental objectives.
- Undertaking detailed analysis and research to inform policy and practice.
- Creating and publishing engaging content for the council’s intranet and website.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of initiatives, especially around prevention and outcomes.
- Supporting co-production with residents, carers, staff, and stakeholders.
- Collaborating with Public Health, Legal Services, and senior leaders to shape strategic decisions.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant qualifications to degree level or equivalent experience in research and policy development.
- Experience in developing policies and managing information content.
- Understanding of co-production and experience working in social care or health.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Excellent IT and organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.
