The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) is a unitary authority in Berkshire, committed to providing quality services to the community. We are looking to expand our Mental Wellbeing team with an experienced senior social worker.

The Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality adult social care services and supporting the development of others within the team.

You will manage a complex caseload, lead service improvement activities, and provide professional leadership across a multi‑agency context.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of complex assessments, safeguarding enquiries, and care planning in line with the Care Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Supporting and supervising colleagues, including offering guidance on complex casework and decision‑making.
  • Leading and contributing to multi‑agency meetings, including safeguarding, best interest, and risk management forums.
  • Promoting and embedding a strengths‑based, person‑centred approach to practice.
  • Contributing to service development, performance, and continuous improvement within a newly re‑integrated team.

Qualifications

  • A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant post‑qualification experience in adult social care, including complex case management.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Experience of supporting others, supervision, or informal mentoring within a team.
  • A commitment to strengths‑based practice, with the ability to work collaboratively with individuals, families, and partner agencies.
  • A commitment to PEPS – AMHP‑ BIA.
