We have an exciting opportunity for a Property Inspection Officer to join us! This is a full-time, permanent office based role with a salary of £26,895 - £30,132 per annum.

The Role: Reporting to the Corporate Estates & Facilities Manager, the Property Inspection Officer will carry out routine and responsive property inspections across the corporate estate and vacant properties, helping to identify hazards, defects, security concerns and basic maintenance issues. The role will support safe and compliant buildings through regular visual inspections, void property checks and routine compliance activities, whilst maintaining accurate inspection records and supporting timely follow-up actions across the service.
Your role will involve:
- Carrying out routine inspections across council buildings and vacant properties, identifying defects, hazards and security concerns
- Supporting routine compliance activities including fire alarm and emergency lighting testing checks
- Recording inspection findings, photographs and follow-up actions using council systems and inspection records
- Raising work requests and escalating urgent hazards, defects or security concerns where required
- Liaising with contractors, facilities staff and internal teams to support property inspections and access arrangements
What we are looking for:
- Experience carrying out property inspections, building checks, caretaking, facilities or maintenance-related activities
- Good awareness of Health & Safety and the ability to identify and report hazards clearly and accurately
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and manage a varied workload across multiple sites
- Experience using IT systems, mobile devices or databases to maintain accurate inspection records and reports
- Good communication skills and a proactive, reliable approach to service delivery
