This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Parks Improvement Officer to join our team delivering neighbourhood services.
The Role
This role will report into the Parks & Open Spaces Contracts Manager and will identify, plan, manage and deliver a portfolio of projects to improve parks, play areas and green spaces. This includes managing stakeholders, contracts, and budgets, working within legislation and policy to create safe, accessible, and high-quality outdoor areas for the public. The role will also support the policies, strategies and service improvement initiatives of the Parks & Countryside team and the wider council.
Your Role Will Involve
- Identifying new parks, play area and green space improvement schemes.
- Dealing with all aspects of the projects including the design and tendering process.
- Managing project budgets.
- Working collaboratively with a range of colleagues and stakeholders.
- Attending site meetings and ensuring community engagement is carried out.
- Assisting with enquiries and complaints.
- Conducting park and playground inspections.
- Producing project highlight reports and updates.

- A proven record of delivering infrastructure/ physical environment projects.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Able to collate and analyse data quickly and accurately.
- Good problem solving skills and an innovative attitude.
- Excellent use of ICT.
- Ability to draft reports and produce visual presentations.
- A proactive approach to meeting the needs of the service.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
