We have an exciting opportunity for Environmental Health Professionals to join us!

There are two full-time, permanent roles available with hybrid working.

This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic Environmental Health professionals to join our commercial Environmental Health team.

The Role:

You\’ll be out and about in our Borough, managing a busy caseload and working with a range of people, building positive relationships. The Team work with businesses and contacts for food hygiene and standards, health & safety, infectious disease control, animal welfare and zoo licensing.As an analytical thinker with a superb eye for detail, you\’ll be keen to develop new ideas and take them forward. Self-motivated and ready to work on your own initiative, we\’ll also expect you to have an Environmental Health qualification and meet the Food Standards Agency\’s Food Law Code of Practice Framework. For this role we are keen to hear from officers who are about to or have recently qualified as well as experienced officers who are looking for a new challenge.

Your role will involve:

  • Enforcing Environmental Health legislation, including statutory compliance inspections.
  • Carrying out compliance inspections and reactive and complaint investigations.
  • Gathering evidence, preparing formal inspection reports, statutory notices, schedules and specifications.
  • Preparing prosecution reports and taking legal proceedings.
  • To engage with a range of stakeholders and external agencies.
