Role Overview: Senior Engineer – responsible for supporting the Principal Engineer to manage the design team and deliver a range of highway and transportation schemes across Kingston and Sutton councils. The role covers the full project lifecycle from scoping and design through procurement and construction site management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Principal Engineer in managing the design team.
  • Check drawings and designs against standards and internal processes.
  • Advise clients on technical design issues and lead project meetings.
  • Produce documents and reports for each design stage and analyse traffic data to propose interventions.
  • Participate in site support, snagging, and execution of highway projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong technical highway design experience, including utility design (C2, C3), CDM regulations, and road safety audits.
  • Prior experience working with a local authority or consultant.
  • Local knowledge of Kingston and Sutton highway networks.
  • Experience in site support and snagging is beneficial.
  • Diploma or degree in civil or transport engineering.
