Working as an SEN Delivery Lead means being at the heart of a service that transforms lives. Working as an SEN Delivery Lead means being at the heart of a service that transforms lives. You\’ll bring structure, clarity and leadership to the systems and people that make the services work, keeping them compliant, efficient and focused on what matters most: the children and young people who rely on it.

Working style:

You\’ll be based in the borough for 3 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community as part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents\’ lives.

What you\’ll be doing

  • You\’ll oversee the operational delivery of the SEND and Educational Psychology Service, making sure every process runs smoothly and meets statutory requirements.
  • Managing a team of six, you\’ll provide line management, supervision and professional development to ensure staff consistently deliver high quality services.
  • You\’ll stay up to date with legislation and guidance, identifying where processes need to evolve and leading improvements that keep the service compliant and forward thinking.
  • You\’ll act as the first point of contact for complaints, Freedom of Information requests and Subject Access Requests, ensuring each is handled promptly, fairly and transparently.
  • Your role will also include recording pre-statutory admissions to specialist nurseries and resourced provisions, overseeing financial processes such as supplier requests and tuition cost monitoring, and ensuring good governance through accurate reporting and record keeping.
  • Data will play a big part in your work where you\’ll lead termly \’deep dive\’ audits to identify trends, spot development areas and shape better practice.
  • You\’ll also coordinate induction and training programmes so that staff have the knowledge, tools and confidence to deliver at their best.

What you\’ll bring

  • You’ll be an organised, confident and people focused leader with experience managing teams, including recruitment, induction and performance management.
  • You’ll be comfortable setting direction, supporting colleagues and driving accountability in a fast paced, high impact environment.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills are essential, from maintaining clear records to meeting tight deadlines.
  • You’ll also bring the ability to analyse data, make evidence-based decisions and identify opportunities to improve systems and processes.
  • You’ll have a good understanding of partnership working, able to build relationships across education, health and social care. Some knowledge of SEN legislation, such as the Children and Families Act 2014, is important – but what matters most is your ability to learn quickly, think critically and lead with integrity.

Finally, you’ll embrace technology as a tool for better working, championing the use of case management systems and data to track progress and inform decisions.
