About the role:

Our in-house recruitment team plays an important part in ensuring Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary continues to deliver an outstanding police service to our communities. This is an exciting time to join our evolving team while we embed several key roles that will shape how we attract future talent across the organisation. Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for managing the newly-created Recruitment Marketing, Attraction and Engagement Team. Working to the Recruitment and Retention manager, you will ensure the team is implementing effective and efficient attraction and engagement activities. You will also contribute to the strategic planning for the force in relation to attraction, recruitment and retention delivery, therefore a comprehensive understanding of our competitors and the labour market is essential.

Under the direction of the Recruitment and Retention manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the delivery of force programmes and initiatives that sit within the marketing, recruitment and retention strategies. You will play a key role in influencing marketing and engagement decisions, ensuring appropriate and timely action is taken in relation to the force’s resourcing needs. Our people are at the forefront of the constabulary’s vision and we are looking for flexible and committed individuals to join our team. While the role is contractually based at HIOWC’s Strategic Headquarters in Eastleigh, hybrid working will be available to those joining the team. Applicants must also be aware that, depending on activity, there may be a requirement to travel to policing sites within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

You will need to be educated to QCF Level 6 or have comparable work experience in a recruitment or similar role. You will have experience of leading a team and be able to make effective business decisions while balancing deadlines and competing priorities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Educated to QCF Level 6 or have work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
  • Significant experience in a generalist HR / Recruitment or similar office-based role.
  • Competent and experienced in managing data.
  • Able to work with technology and analyse/search management information to inform decision making.
  • Experience in leading a team that requires multi-tasking and able to make effective business decisions within the limitations of the role.
  • Experience of working to deadlines and with conflicting priorities.
