Your new role: As an Assistant Health and Safety Advisor at RBKC, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of a comprehensive health and safety service across the council's operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and delivering person‐centred fire risk assessments (PCFRAs) for vulnerable residents
  • Maintaining accurate data, ensuring GDPR compliance and supporting administrative processes
  • Assisting the Health, Safety and Resilience team with day‐to‐day operational activities
  • Carrying out risk assessments (e.g. DSE, manual handling, first aid) as a competent person
  • Providing practical health and safety advice to employees across multiple sites
  • Supporting site inductions and facilitating health and safety meetings
  • Assisting with incident investigations, reporting and preventative recommendations
  • Developing and reviewing safe systems of work and guidance documents
  • Liaising with key external partners including the London Fire Brigade
  • Supporting training coordination and assisting with delivery when required

This is a varied and engaging role offering exposure to a wide range of activities within a complex public sector environment.

What you'll need to succeed: To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (essential)
  • Experience supporting health and safety in a multi‐site or complex organisation
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience in accurate record keeping
  • The ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders and manage expectations
  • Experience collaborating with internal teams and external organisations
