An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Economic Prosperity Officer to join our Economy and Skills team at Hampshire County Council.
The Role:
Are you an experienced Economic Development professional looking for your next challenge?
We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible individual who will support the development of exciting new economic growth project opportunities across Hampshire.
What you’ll do:
As our Economic Prosperity Officer, you will assist new and emerging businesses, industry clusters and networks to thrive by working closely with them to deliver support and recognise the potential to unlock investment and drive job creation. The role will involve working in partnership with a range of organisations, public and commercial partners at a local, regional and national level to realise Hampshire’s economic vision.
Collaboration will be key, and you will assist with the support and delivery of the new priorities, the Hampshire Growth Hub and Business Forum and the Hampshire Sustainability Action Network, working alongside the Economic Prosperity Manager.
What we’re looking for:
- Educated to a Degree Level or equivalent in a relevant subject, or applied experience of working within an Economic Development environment at local or regional level
- Experience of economic development practice within Local Government
- Understanding of both Local and National policy impacting on the economy
- Ability to prioritise workload
- A self-starter who has experience and confidence of working both alone and within a team environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral to support team and partnership working
- Excellent working knowledge Microsoft Office Software
- Be a confident in ability to represent Hampshire County Council within networks and partnerships
