Are you a Substance Misuse Worker looking to change the lives of young people? We have a great opportunity for a full‑time worker to join the Royal Borough of Greenwich Young Persons Substance Misuse Service delivering Brief Interventions and Psychosocial Treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Brief Interventions and Psychosocial Treatment to young people aged 10–18.
- Conduct assessments, analyse information, and produce detailed report writing.
- Engage with young people, children’s social workers and professionals from other agencies including Early Help, CAMHS and Housing.
- Manage your own caseload, use initiative and meet deadlines.
- Apply knowledge of alcohol, opiates, non‑opiates and other substances, and their impact on children and young people.
- Provide appropriate interventions to support young people in their substance use.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young people aged 10–18 in substance misuse settings.
- Strong assessment, analytic and report‑writing skills.
- Excellent engagement skills and ability to work collaboratively with multi‑agency teams.
- Knowledge of interventions for substance misuse in young people.
Hours and Salary
- Hours: 35 hours per week, Permanent (following probationary period).
- Salary: £40182 per annum (based on a 35‑hour week).
- Grade: SO2.
