This strategy shapes what we're working on now and into the future. It is an exciting time to join us. We are researching for people-focused digital, data and technology experts to join our new team. We are focused on improving services for our residents and making our borough truly digital.

As part of our Product team in Digital and Customer Services, you'll lead and assist multidisciplinary teams to identify problems in services and products, before designing and implementing appropriate solutions (both through in-house development and third-party suppliers). Responsibilities include:

  • Improving our social housing repairs journey
  • Redesigning our resident-facing website from scratch
  • Creating a user-focused intranet for staff
  • Helping waste collection teams manage their work
  • Helping residents find support services via our community directory
  • Improving the journey for adult social care users

You’ll work closely with council service teams to help them understand their products, services and data. You’ll translate users' pain points and stakeholder priorities into clearly defined problems to solve. You’ll analyse what you discover and articulate the findings into recommendations, products and outcomes that deliver better services for residents and staff alike. You’ll be able to visualise service journeys and map current and future state processes. You’ll use data to quantify problems and model the impact they have on residents and the council. You’ll use these skills to project the benefits and rationale for investing in new processes or technology, helping teams to prioritise areas where they can have the greatest impact.

You’ll report to the Product Lead and play an active role in the Business Analysis Community of Practice, including line managing and developing one or more Business Analysts. You’ll also work closely with other disciplines to develop product practices and codify ways of working in our new and growing team.

You’ll have experience leading work in multi-disciplinary teams and taking responsibility for the analysis throughout the product and service transformation lifecycles. You will be an analytical, user-centered, data-driven individual who has the eagerness to understand the root cause of issues, document and communicate them, and source appropriate solutions. You’ll have deep knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques, using appropriate applications to synthesise information and evidence. You must also be able to use analysis methods to develop actionable insights that allow you to spot opportunities for service improvement and/or product development.

You’ll ideally have knowledge of modelling and measuring the financial and non-financial impact of products, services and proposed changes throughout the project lifecycle. You will be able to monitor the outcomes of products or change programmes after they go live, to enable teams to iterate and improve on what they’ve delivered. You’ll be passionate about developing your skills and supporting others in the team. You’ll be a supportive coach to your line reports, who takes a keen interest in their development and career pathway.

You should be a person who shares our values and principles.
