This is a great opportunity to join the Royal Borough of Greenwich Resourcing Service at an important time for the team. We are looking for a motivated, organised and customer focused Recruitment Officer to help deliver a responsive and high-quality recruitment service to hiring managers, candidates and colleagues across the Council.

In this busy role, attention to detail, pace and communication really matter. You will support recruitment activity from advert through to start date, helping managers progress campaigns, supporting candidates through pre-employment checks, issuing contracts and new starter information, processing some contract changes, updating recruitment and HR systems, supporting iTrent entry and working to key payroll deadlines. You will help ensure recruitment activity is delivered safely, fairly and in line with Council procedures.

You will be joining a team that manages a busy and varied workload, with competing priorities and a wide range of recruitment queries. We are therefore looking for someone who is organised and meticulous, can take ownership of their work, works well as part of a team and responds positively in a fast‑paced environment.

This is a career graded role, offering the opportunity to use and develop your recruitment knowledge and progress within the service. Whether you already have recruitment experience or are building on strong transferable experience, you will continue to develop your understanding of recruitment procedures, inclusive recruitment, employment checks, recruitment systems, candidate communication and how to provide effective recruitment support and guidance to hiring managers.

We are looking for someone who can bring relevant recruitment experience, or strong transferable experience from a busy, customer focused or process driven environment, and use that experience to work accurately, communicate well and manage competing priorities. You will also need to be eager to learn, willing to ask questions, open to feedback and committed to developing your recruitment knowledge while delivering a professional and responsive service.

The role will sit within the area of the Resourcing Service that supports Council appointments, including permanent, fixed term, internal and secondment recruitment, rather than agency recruitment. The role is hybrid, with a requirement to work on site at least two days per week. The successful candidate may be expected to work on site more regularly during the initial induction and training period.

Join our committed Resourcing Service and help us recruit the people we need to deliver excellent services for Royal Greenwich residents.
