Providing first‑class customer service to residents and service users by handling telephone calls, email, web chat, and face‑to‑face interactions at Woolwich and Eltham Service Centres or the Woolwich Corporate Reception.

Answer and resolve customer enquiries across multiple channels (phone, email, web chat, face‑to‑face). Advise customers, interpret queries, and route them to the appropriate department. Assist with a wide range of service requests, from arranging waste collection to supporting vulnerable individuals. Record and manage customer interactions using council ICT systems.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in a customer‑focused role, preferably in a call centre or public service environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proficient with ICT systems and a willingness to learn new technology.
  • Commitment to a high‑standard professional image and a flexible, team‑working attitude.
  • Suitable for a satisfactory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Location: Woolwich, London.

Salary (35 hour week): £30,288 to £39,276 on a career graded scale.
