This role is a Fixed‑Term contract for 12 months. The role sits within the Health & Adults Services Finance team, which provides wrap‑around finance support to managers across adult’s social care, integrated commissioning, public health and nil recourse service areas and will be reporting to the Accountancy Business Change manager. The successful candidate will be required to undertake work tasks at all stages of the budget cycle in line with financial and statutory regulations and contribute to the Council meeting its Section 151 responsibilities. The role will also involve monitoring specific grants and completing grant returns, supporting procurement processes and governance around income‑generating and the incurrence of expenditure as well as financial advice and guidance on change programmes and efficiencies as part of the Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS). You will be required to regularly liaise with finance colleagues, service managers and external partners, building effective working relationships and ensuring a high standard of service is maintained and may need to line‑manage junior team members. To be considered, you need to be a qualified accountant or possess relevant experience at an equivalent professional level.
