Royal Blue Consultants is recruiting a Business Therapy Manager on behalf of a leading independent healthcare provider, covering a multi-site therapy service. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior operational leadership role within one of the UK's leading independent healthcare providers, with a genuine track record of fast progression: the current post-holder has been promoted to Hospital Director within around two years of starting in this role.
About the role
You will oversee the full therapy provision, inpatient and outpatient, across the service. You will line manage lead therapists across six teams: Specialist Services, Outpatient, Inpatient, Addictions, and a satellite clinic team, and Therapy Admin (via a Therapy Admin Team Manager), along with some social workers. You will provide monthly supervision to team leads, oversee day to day operational management, and support teams through incidents, while holding ultimate accountability for smooth service delivery across the wider therapy provision. You will report to the Hospital Director, sit on the senior leadership team, and work closely with the Hospital Director on hospital growth and business development.
Key responsibilities
- Own an outpatient therapy budget, with a strong focus on capturing all billing, streamlining the referral process, building strong relationships with referring consultants, and improving conversion from referral and assessment through to treatment start.
- Drive staff engagement and retention across your teams.
- Lead service line development and new pathway or business development work, such as the recent coordination of four new CAMHS pathways, including building pathway packs, sourcing clinical input, and presenting to network and board level.
About you
We welcome applications from both clinical and non-clinical candidates. If you come from a clinical background, this could be an ideal next step for a Lead Therapist ready to move into broader operational leadership. If you come from a non-clinical background, a clinical qualification is not required, but you should be able to evidence experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams. This route could suit a Clinic Manager from a smaller or standalone clinic looking to step up into a much larger scope of line management and operational oversight.
What is on offer
- Salary expected to be advertised around £66,950 pounds, reflecting a senior management pay band.
- A clear and proven route into hospital-level leadership, with the current post-holder's promotion to Hospital Director as a strong example of the progression this role can offer.
- The chance to join a senior leadership team at a well established hospital group at a genuinely exciting time, shaping both service quality and growth across the service.
- This vacancy has arisen due to an internal promotion, not a departure, meaning you will be stepping into a stable, well-supported team from day one.
