We are working closely with the HD & MD at a well-regarded independent mental health provider to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist in Older Adults for their established inpatient unit in West Yorkshire. This is an attractive role within a tight-knit consultant team and offers the opportunity to work with a stable and familiar patient group.

The role involves holding clinical responsibility for a long-stay older adult inpatient ward, with a maximum caseload of 16 patients. The patient group is predominantly longer-stay allowing relationship-based clinical work rather than high-throughput acute psychiatry. On-call is extremely light touch with a responsibility of 1 in 4, non-residential, with e-prescribing in place and no out-of-hours admissions.

The role is advertised at up to 37.5 hours per week, but we would be open to considering flexibility by way of condensed hours, reduced days and flexibility around start and finish times.

What we are looking for:

  • CCT in Old Age Psychiatry / General Adult CCT with demonstrable older adult or neuropsychiatry experience
  • A consultant who values continuity of care and strong therapeutic relationships
  • Someone who fits well within a small, close-knit permanent team and brings the right attitude and approach

The package includes:

  • Up to £165,000 per annum
  • Flexible working patterns considered
  • A stable, fully-staffed multidisciplinary team
  • Strong ICB relationships and a respected clinical reputation in the region

If this sounds like the right environment for you, or if you would like a confidential conversation before deciding whether to apply, please get in touch directly. All enquiries are handled with complete discretion.
