Are you an exceptional or aspiring senior leader with a background in mental health services, looking for a role where you can drive real quality and commercial performance? Our client is a well-regarded independent mental health provider operating a specialist rehabilitation service in the West Midlands, supporting males and females with severe, complex and enduring mental health needs including treatment-resistant conditions. This is a high-impact leadership role with full accountability for the hospital's operational, financial and regulatory performance.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Hospital Director, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership and performance of the service, clinical quality, financial results, regulatory compliance and team culture. You'll lead a Senior Management Team across all day-to-day operational areas, work alongside clinical leadership on risk management, and use performance data proactively to identify and address areas for improvement. This is a role for a resilient, commercially minded leader who is equally passionate about outstanding patient care.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Taking full accountability for the hospital's operational effectiveness, commercial performance and regulatory compliance as Registered Manager
  • Leading and managing the Senior Management Team across all business deliverables
  • Monitoring quality performance indicators and managing performance where improvement is required
  • Maintaining oversight of clinical risk alongside senior clinical leadership
  • Ensuring the service meets agreed targets for revenue, EBITDA and care quality standards
  • Using management information proactively to identify underperformance and implement effective action plans
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality, patient-centred care throughout the service

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Clinical background with experience in hospital / mental health settings.
  • Proven senior leadership experience, ideally within a mental health or specialist healthcare setting
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing financial performance and business planning
  • Excellent decision-making, organisational and change management skills
  • Experience in a similar role, even if this is a step up. For example, Unit Manager, Deputy Hospital Manager, Head of Nursing, etc.
  • Resilient and adaptable under pressure, with the ability to maintain quality and compliance in a fast-paced environment
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding care to people with complex mental health needs
