We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cloud Security Developer to join our team in our Fenchurch office in London. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions to enhance RBC's cloud security posture, and will also contribute to the developer experience and foster a culture that encourages best security practices. This is a permanent, full-time role and requires 4 days at our 100 Bishopsgate, London office.
What will you do?
- Establish core services and security controls across our Azure, AWS, GCP and Kubernetes environments.
- Design and build cloud security solutions using automation, config as code, and TDD principles.
- Implement SRE practices to enhance operational processes and reliability.
- Collaborate with multiple engineering groups to align on technical strategies.
- Develop security coverage reports to identify gaps and enhance the cloud security strategy.
- Lead and participate in delivering end‑to‑end integrated solutions.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have
- Familiarity with modern software development, DevOps, and SRE practices.
- Experience in Python.
- Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerization.
- Experience working with container tools and platforms.
- Experience in building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools like ARM, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
- Must be available for on‑call support.
Nice to have
- Experience with observability tools and frameworks like Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry etc.
- Experience with Open Policy Agent.
- Experience in Go, TypeScript, or any other modern programming language.
- Cloud or Security certifications.
