What is the opportunity?
To become an expert in the applications, technologies and industry messaging standards used to support client trading, payments and asset servicing business process, across the RBC Wealth Management Europe (WME) operating model. You will have the ability to become a technology expert, working with business stakeholders at all levels to support industry change compliance and strategic initiatives through effective, innovative, and robust technical solution implementation. RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
- Provide the technical analysis required to ensure the seamless operating and continuous improvement of the technology ecosystem and lead the implementation of periodic application upgrade/changes.
- Build a substantive understanding of core ecosystem software applications, messaging standards, and their business use, including Avaloq, Equisoft, CREST, 360T, ICE, Client Engage, eXimius, SWIFT.
- Demonstrate and build strong customer and stakeholder relationships to understand high level business requirements and production incident root cause, then define and document technical requirements to enable design and delivery of the changes or fixes.
- Lead the technical, business and test impact assessment, change implementation and deployment of periodic external vendor application upgrades.
- Apply technical knowledge to challenge application solution design documents produced by vendors and development teams to ensure they will deliver efficient and effective business outcomes.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams engaging with developers, engineers, and testers to gain their input into analysis solutions, test case development and conduct testing if required.
- Work within both agile and classic project management delivery models.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Educated to degree level, or an alternative higher level finance industry related qualification.
- Extensive experience, working as a technical focused business analyst.
- Understanding of API messaging protocols e.g. REST and related payload designs - JSON, XML.
- Knowledge/understanding of financial message protocols e.g., SWIFT MT/MX, CREST DEX, BACS.
- Ability to understand and query relational databases via SQL or Python.
Nice-to-have:
- International Diploma in Business Analysis.
- Wealth management industry qualifications.
- Knowledge of Postman application to support API analysis and testing.
