You will be responsible for making sure every price, security, fund, broker, and benchmark record we rely on is accurate, complete, and on time. This data underpins trading, NAV calculations, client reporting, and regulatory filings, so the quality bar is high and the work is genuinely consequential.

This is as much a people-leadership role as a technical one. The team is capable and fully staffed having recently had some turnover. Your first and most important job is to bring them together: to help talented people across two locations gel into a close, connected team with a shared sense of purpose and a common way of working. From that foundation, you'll build on the strong operational base already in place, driving the operational excellence, process improvement, and governance that the role also demands.

This is a permanent, full-time role and requires 4 days in the office at our 100 Bishopsgate, London office.

What will you do?

  • Bring the team together
  • Help a group of Senior Data Analysts and Data Analysts, across London and Stamford, grow into a close-knit team with a shared identity, clear norms, and genuine trust
  • Build the connections that let knowledge flow both ways, so everyone feels part of one group
  • Keep both locations equally connected and visible, one team, two desks, with London and Stamford working as genuine partners
  • Sustain and strengthen the everyday rhythm that keeps a team close: regular 1:1s, clear priorities, shared handovers, and consistent follow-through
  • Coach and develop each person, run real career conversations and performance reviews, and build a collaborative, continuous-improvement culture
  • Own pricing and reference data operations
  • Oversee daily pricing operations for bonds, derivatives, equities, and loans across the IVP Price Master and market data platforms (Bloomberg, Pricing Direct, ICE Data Services, Refinitiv, S&P)
  • Ensure timely, accurate maintenance of security, fund, broker, benchmark, and reference data across key systems (IVP Security Master, SimCorp Dimension, Charles River, Wall Street Office)
  • Monitor and resolve escalated pricing and reference data issues, and act as the primary escalation point for the function
  • Maintain and improve data quality standards and controls, and provide input on tooling, systems, and vendor services
  • Assign and balance workload so capacity matches business demand, and protects the team from unmanaged, ill-sequenced urgency
  • Drive improvement and manage risk
  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives using Python, SQL, and generative AI
  • Identify and implement control enhancements that reduce operational and regulatory risk
  • Lead system upgrade projects and assess the downstream impact of data and process changes
  • Maintain team documentation, procedures, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with valuation policies and regulatory requirements, and coordinate audit and regulatory responses related to pricing and reference data
  • Manage stakeholders and communication
  • Build strong working relationships across Investment Desks, Operations, Client Reporting, Fund Accounting, Risk/Performance & Attribution, and IT Development
  • Coordinate with internal teams on new initiatives to ensure data flows and translations stay correct
  • Provide regular, clear updates and management reporting to senior leadership

What do you need to succeed?

  • Must-have
  • Experience in asset management, including at least 2 years in reference data, or middle-office operations
  • Proven people-management experience, building team cohesion, coaching, performance management, and team development, ideally across more than one location
  • Strong Excel skills and strong data analysis capabilities
  • Working proficiency in Python and SQL for analysis and process automation
  • Practical experience using generative AI to drive efficiency
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Nice-to-have
  • Degree in STEM or Finance
  • Experience with security mastering systems (IVP, SimCorp, Charles River)
  • Familiarity with fund valuation regulatory frameworks (e.g., AIFMD/UCITS)
  • Project management experience
  • Experience uniting or integrating a team across multiple sites or time zones
