This is a technically focused role delivering automation, workflow optimization and system enhancement initiatives across Futures, Commodities and OTC Derivatives operations. The role is centered on improving operational scalability, reducing manual processing and supporting technical requirements driven by evolving exchange, product and operational requirements.
You will work across the Transaction Services team building automation solutions, enhancing data and workflow processes while supporting implementation on initiatives that improve efficiency, controls and operational resiliency. This position offers exposure to market infrastructure, post trade operations and technical delivery in a fast-paced financial markets environment.
RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
- Design and develop automation solutions supporting operational workflows, reconciliations, reporting processes and technical implementations.
- Build scripts, tools, integrations, monitoring capabilities that improve process efficiencies and reduce operational risk.
- Analyze workflows, data dependencies and operational processes to identify automation and optimization opportunities.
- Support system enhancements, implementation activities, testing, deployment and production readiness initiatives.
- Partner with operations and technology teams to deliver scalable workflow and operational improvements.
- Improve exception management, operational controls and reporting capabilities.
- Deliver technical implementations related to exchange, product or operational changes across derivatives workflow.
- Maintain technical documentation, implementation artifacts and support procedures.

- Strong experience with Python, SQL, VBA, Power Automate or similar automation and scripting technologies.
- Experience building automation solutions, operational tooling or workflow optimization capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting technical implementations, testing or system enhancement initiatives.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Keen attention to detail and a change-oriented delivery focus.
- Experience within Futures, Commodities or OTC Derivatives markets.
