What is the opportunity? In the role of Senior Manager Engineering Critical Environments, your overreaching objective is to provide strategic management and direction including optimization of all critical infrastructure Engineering within the RBC EMEA / APAC portfolio. Working in partnership with other members of the Critical Environments EMEA / APAC team for the effective running of the Critical Environments portfolio reporting into the Director of CE Operations. The role is office-based and will require 4 days based in the office.
What will you do?
- Responsibility for the daily Critical Engineering ensuring 100% Up-Time of Critical Environments within Europe & Asia.
- Respond to emergency situations both in and out of hours.
- Communicate to stakeholders and management through RBC defined process throughout emergency situations.
- Mechanical and electrical engineering subject matter expert including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), emergency power generators, power, HVAC, building controls & fire suppression systems.
- Lead for UK/EMEA/APAC Critical Environment Engineering Support & Colo Data Centers.
- Lead in the development of technical standards, policies, procedures, and documentation to support CE Engineering Operations. Also, ongoing reviews to make sure that these align to business needs, industry standards and statutory requirements.
- Lead in providing technical review of MOP / EOP process across EMEA / APAC region of Critical Environments to ensure standardization in content and format of said documents.
- Subject matter expert for engineering support regarding audit & compliance within CE EMEA / APAC and provide technical review and sign off.
- Oversight / Monitoring of Critical Environment Preventative Maintenance Program from an engineering perspective.
- Responsible for the development of reliable and cost-effective solutions, technical standards & policies that support the Critical Facility.
What do you need to succeed?
- Must-have University or equivalent relevant Engineering qualifications and experience.
- Engineering subject matter expert within Critical Environments.
- Strong organization and administration related experience.
- Proficient with MS Office applications.
- Very strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate with people in a wide variety of areas and at various levels.
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrix model and leverage Global resource to achieve objectives.
- Understanding of Audit, Risk and Compliance practices.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, client focus and responsive to business goals.
- Outstanding ability to learn and quickly absorb new concepts (in tools and systems), apply new knowledge as appropriate and transfer knowledge to others.
- Proven planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Engineering and IT Systems knowledge.
