RBC Capital Markets is seeking a Senior Analyst or Associate to join our market-leading Power, Utilities & Infrastructure team in London. You will work alongside experienced advisors on M&A, financing, and infrastructure transactions, gaining exposure to complex deal structures, institutional clients, and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will combine strong technical capabilities with the drive to deliver exceptional client service and support team growth.
What will you do?
- Lead or support key workstreams on mandated M&A, refinancing, and infrastructure transactions from origination through close
- Coordinate with legal, tax, and operational advisors; manage information requests and due diligence processes
- Drive valuation analyses and DCF modelling; validate assumptions and stress-test outputs for credibility with clients and investors
- Participate in pitch meetings, client calls, and negotiations; contribute to relationship-building efforts
- Build and maintain detailed financial models for transaction analysis, valuation, and pitch scenarios
- Mentor and train Analysts on technical skills, deal processes, and client management
- Lead by example through work quality, responsiveness, and professionalism
- Contribute to team efficiency through process improvement and knowledge-sharing
- Support team on ad-hoc projects and cross-deal initiatives
What do you need to succeed?
- Must Have
- Minimum 2-4 years of M&A advisory experience in Investment Banking, infrastructure-focused advisory, or related transaction services (e.g., Big 4 consulting)
- Demonstrated experience advising on infrastructure and utilities sector transactions (power generation, district heating, utilities, renewables, energy transition)
- Demonstrable Investment Banking transaction experience and a comprehensive understanding of the valuation approaches typically used in the utilities/renewables sectors
- Strong infrastructure modelling skills
- Prior experience covering the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure sector
