We are looking for a Director, Intermediaries Services & Strategy to join our Intermediaries department on a permanent basis. Intermediaries are a fast-growing channel managing over £25bn in assets and driving innovation across RBC Brewin Dolphin.
You will be a trusted strategic partner and leader who will drive transformational change across the Intermediaries channel. In this role, you will support the Head of Planning & Execution and Intermediary ManCo in designing our Target Operating Model and leading key strategic initiatives, including our technology and digital transformation. You will act as deputy to the Head of Planning & Execution, managing senior management and C-Suite requests whilst influencing stakeholders at all levels across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a growing team, shape the future direction of our fastest-growing business channel, and make a lasting impact across the Group.
This is a permanent, full-time role and requires 4 days in the office per week. We are happy to consider applicants from within a commutable distance to any of the RBC Brewin Dolphin office network.
What will you do?
- Lead strategic project delivery and drive transformational initiatives that enhance Channel performance and business outcomes, including our Thrive strategic goals.
- Represent Intermediaries across RBC Brewin Dolphin governance forums, committees and external stakeholder meetings, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment.
- Champion change initiatives and lead cross-functional engagement with working groups and implementation readiness boards to ensure seamless delivery.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with HR, Finance, Marketing, Risk, Compliance and Business Management to develop integrated business solutions.
- Provide accurate, timely and actionable management information to support ManCo decision-making and reporting obligations.
- Monitor performance against business SLAs across client-facing and second line of defence functions, driving continuous improvement and corrective actions.
- Prepare strategic papers, board submissions and presentations for ManCo and governance committees, translating complex information for senior decision-making.
- Deputise for the Head of Planning & Execution during absences, providing principal contact and support to direct reports and Channel stakeholders.
- Build, recruit and lead a growing team, ensuring strong performance management, development of direct reports and establishing a clear career framework.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Extensive experience in team leadership and people management within a fast-paced, transformational environment.
- Previous experience and significant knowledge of Wealth Management.
- Demonstrable experience in managing / delivering projects from inception to completion.
- Robust knowledge of change management and the ability to lead stakeholders through organisational transformation.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across all organisational levels.
- Meticulous attention to detail with excellent written and spoken English.
- Broad understanding of compliance, AML/KYC and governance requirements in a financial services context.
Nice-to-have
- Experience within an Intermediaries function and / or familiarity with IFA businesses.
- Project management certification or similar professional qualification.
