What is the opportunity? We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Interest Rate Sales team as a Rates Sales Desk Assistant, providing essential operational and administrative support to our bond and swap sales professionals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What will you do?

  • Trade Management & Operations
    • Book client trades / liaise with trading and sales teams.
    • Input and monitor regulatory Orders / RFQs in trading systems and Rose.
    • Reconcile risk with sales and trading.
  • Client Account Management
    • Work with KYC / Onboarding to actively open new accounts for the business.
    • Ensure clients have the correct access to research.
    • Work with the electronic trading teams to ensure clients are set up to trade with us across all rates products globally.
    • Build and produce client reports detailing RBC performance, highlighting underperformance in inquiry and hit ratios.
  • Risk & Credit Management
    • Ensure adequate credit is available for transactions using credit tools or liaising with credit risk officers in London or Toronto.
    • Check FX settlement limits for novations facing the street.
  • Relationship & Support Functions
    • Liaise with RBC Support teams throughout the day to resolve trade discrepancies and clear actioned items promptly.
    • Build strong relationships with back-office teams.
    • Maintain proactive relationships with Trading, Sales, and Strategy teams.
    • Support ad hoc projects related to technology build and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify operational risks and control deficiencies in the business.
    • Assist desk with administrative tasks requiring Excel and PowerPoint competency.
    • Attend product training to broaden knowledge of FICC products.
