We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join the Global Investment Banking (GIB) Consumer and Retail sector Team in our London office. The Associate will be responsible for supporting the marketing and execution of Mergers & Acquisitions, Debt, Equity and other financial advisory services.

What will you do?

  • To assist in the marketing and execution of M&A, equity and financing transactions in the Consumer, Retail & Leisure sector
  • To work in close co-operation with other local and global teams in coverage of the sector
  • To assist in the development of relationships with, and generate revenue from, corporates and private equity clients focused on the Consumer, Retail & Leisure sector

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Previous investment banking or corporate M&A experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Investment Banking services and the ability to apply them creatively to diverse client needs
  • Ability to adapt and grasp new sectors quickly, including understanding broad sector drivers, key players, the industry sub-segments and associated market dynamics
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Sound judgement, particularly in valuation matters, with strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent modelling skills with experience in merger and LBO analysis
  • Advanced computer skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, CapIQ

Nice to have

  • Prior Consumer/Retail/Leisure sector experience
  • FCA registered/Approved person
